OVERVIEW

We were commissioned to transport a 7m motor boat from Sørkjosen, Norway inside the Arctic Circle 2345 miles to Plymouth, England.  The client needed a reliable and fully insured boat transporter with extensive experience of European and international boat transport.  We provided a competitive quote for the job with no hidden extras.

CLIENT BACKGROUND

The boat had been purchased by a private individual who had chosen the boat after seeing it on the water in Norway. The client needed the boat safely transported by road back to Plymouth, Devon where they are based. 

THE CHALLENGE

It was a challenging job as the boat needed to be transported out of Norway before the winter weather snow came in. We linked the client with a customs agent who we have worked with extensively over the years. The agent completed all the required paperwork for the export and import allowing the transport to go smoothly.

OUR SOLUTION

We carefully planned the route to ensure it was suitable for a load of this size. The transport was carried out using one of our bespoke boat trailers that are specially designed to carry all types of motor boat and sailing boat. Our driver with over 20 years experience took the upmost care and attention to ensure the boat was securely loaded on the trailer and strapped down with carpet under the straps to prevent any damage to the boat. We coordinated with the loading boatyard regarding collection arrangements and kept the client regularly updated on progress. Photos were taken after loading and sent to the client.

The boat was delivered safely and ahead of schedule to a very happy client. At the destination the boat was slipway launched to save the client the cost of a crane lift.
