Boat Transport from Norway to the UK – from the Arctic Circle to Plymouth

International boat transport from Norway to England: 7m motorboat moved 2,345 miles fully insured and on schedule

When you are transporting a boat from inside the Arctic Circle to the south coast of England, planning and experience matter.

In September 2025, we were commissioned to move a 7m Kaabool 660SC motorboat from Sørkjosen, Norway — 2,345 miles — to Plymouth, Devon. With winter closing in fast, timing was critical.

Here iss how we delivered the boat safely, efficiently, and ahead of schedule.

The job at a glance

  • Origin: Sørkjosen, Norway

  • Destination: Plymouth, UK

  • Distance: 2,345 miles

  • Vessel: Kaabool 660SC

  • Length: 7 metres

  • Duration: 5 days

  • Date: September 2025

The client brief

The boat had been purchased by a private buyer who first saw the vessel on the water in Norway. After securing the purchase, they needed a reliable, fully insured transporter with proven European and international boat transport experience to bring it home to Plymouth.

We provided a clear, competitive quotation — with no hidden extras — giving the client complete peace of mind from the outset.

The challenge: beating the Arctic winter

This was not just a long-distance haul — it was a race against the seasons.

Sørkjosen sits inside the Arctic Circle, and once winter snow arrives, transport conditions quickly become far more difficult. The boat needed to leave Norway before severe weather set in.

To ensure a smooth border process, we connected the client with a trusted customs agent we have worked with extensively over the years. All export and import documentation was handled professionally in advance, allowing the transport to proceed without delays.

Route planning and specialist equipment

A 2,345-mile journey demands careful route planning. We assessed road suitability, ferry connections, and border crossings to ensure the most efficient and secure route for a load of this size.

The boat was transported using one of our bespoke boat trailers, purpose-built to carry motorboats and sailing boats safely over long distances.

Our driver — with over 20 years of experience in boat transport — carried out meticulous loading procedures:

  • Secure positioning and weight distribution

  • Protective carpet placed under straps

  • Careful tensioning to prevent movement

  • Full safety checks before departure

We coordinated closely with the loading boatyard in Norway and provided the client with regular updates and photos after loading and throughout the journey.

When moving a vessel thousands of miles, communication is just as important as logistics.

Delivered ahead of schedule

The Kaabool 660SC arrived safely in Plymouth ahead of schedule, ready for its new life on the water in Devon.

To save the client the cost of a crane lift, we arranged for the boat to be slipway launched at the destination — a practical and cost-effective solution.

The result? A smooth international transport and a very happy new owner.
