RIB Transport from the UK to Greece – Dartmouth to Corfu in just 5 days

Professional European boat transport: 9m RIB moved from Dartmouth to Corfu with full insurance and ferry coordination

Transporting boats across Europe is never just about getting from A to B — it is about timing, coordination, and making sure everything arrives exactly as it should.

In June 2025, we were asked to move a 9m Ribeye Prime Nine 41 from Dartmouth in Devon all the way to Corfu, Greece — a journey of 1,795 miles — and the clock was ticking.

Here is how we made it happen.

The job at a glance

  • Origin: Dartmouth, United Kingdom

  • Destination: Corfu, Greece

  • Distance: 1,795 miles

  • Vessel: Ribeye Prime Nine 41

  • Length: 9 metres

  • Duration: 5 days

  • Date: June 2025

The Challenge: Beating the Holiday Deadline

The boat had just been purchased by a private owner with a holiday home in Corfu. The brief was simple:

“We need it there before the holiday starts.”

No delays. No excuses.

The client wanted to be out on the water with their family as soon as they arrived in Greece, so timing was absolutely critical.

Planning a 1,795-Mmile European move

With three ferry crossings involved, the journey required detailed coordination:

  • Dover → Calais

  • Ancona → Igoumenitsa

  • Igoumenitsa → Corfu

Each crossing had to be booked precisely to avoid unnecessary waiting time and to keep the schedule tight.

We also worked closely with the client’s customs agent to ensure all export and import documentation was completed correctly. With post-Brexit regulations and multiple border crossings, paperwork can easily cause delays — so we made sure everything was in place before departure.

Preparing the Boat for the Road

Before setting off, our experienced driver carried out full pre-transport checks:

  • Trailer inspection

  • Tyre pressure checks

  • Additional securing straps fitted

  • Weight and load verification

The 9m RIB, on its own trailer, was towed behind one of our Mercedes Sprinter vans. These vehicles are rated to tow up to 3,500kg and are fitted with tachographs to ensure fully legal towing compliance across Europe.

For long-distance European runs like this, our vans are also converted to provide comfortable accommodation for the driver — allowing for safe rest periods without compromising progress.

Communication every step of the way

We liaised with:

  • The yacht broker in Dartmouth to coordinate collection

  • The receiving boatyard in Corfu to arrange delivery

  • The client’s customs agent for smooth border crossings

And throughout the journey, we sent daily updates and photos so the client could follow their boat’s progress across Europe.

Right on time — holiday ready

Five days after collection in Dartmouth, the Ribeye arrived safely in Corfu — on schedule and ready for launch.

The result? A very happy owner and a family ready to enjoy their first days on the water in the Greek sunshine.
